ACTION REQUIRED: INFORM Consumers Act for Amazon Sellers

Amazon has begun contacting sellers regarding the The INFORM Consumers Act, which was signed into law on December 23, 2022 and goes into effect in June 2023.

This act imposes new seller diligence and disclosure requirements on online marketplaces. The Act requires online marketplaces to require sellers with $20,000 or more in annual gross revenue to provide consumers with certain information, including the seller's name, physical address, contact information, and whether a different seller was used to supply the product purchased within 10 business days of being notified of such requirements. If information is not provided within that timeframe, the marketplace can suspend the account. If your account has been required to provide the aforementioned information, you will hear directly from Amazon and/or the Brand Manager on your account.

Collection of seller identification and bank account information within ten days of the seller qualifying as a “high-volume third party seller,” verification of the information within ten days of receipt, and collection of seller certifications regarding the accuracy of the information at least annually.
