BREAKING: Amazon Vendor Central Q4 Purchase Orders Inbound

Amazon Vendor Central has officially communicated that Q4 purchase orders are coming earlier this year with increased ordering of up to 70% from mid-August to mid-October compared to normal for this period. Some of the larger accounts we manage have already started seeing the placing of these orders. We believe this is the result of nearly all accounts being down significantly year over year in inventory levels and months of supply. We realize sales have been soft in May and June versus strength in brick and mortar yet believe this is Amazon indicating some of the weakness due to lite inventory levels.

This notification will help you better plan your supply and prepare Q4 inventory to ensure improved in-stock rates ahead of the holiday season.

To ensure a smooth flow of shipments through our network and optimize our supply chain operations for Q4 2024, Amazon may pull forward ordering for some of our Q4 selection.

As a result, you may see increased ordering of up to 70% from mid-August to mid-October compared to normal for this period. This is an estimate. The actual increase (if any) may vary.

Follow these guidelines to ship purchase orders on time:

  • Ensure that your contact details and catalog details are accurate.

  • Update availability for products that you can’t supply.

  • Update your warehouse addresses with correct operating hours and night and weekend availability. Find your fulfillment center, select Edit, then select Availability tab. If your site requires special equipment to pick up your freight, select the specific option for the equipment your site needs.

  • Confirm purchase orders within 24 hours and process shipments quickly.

  • Coordinate with carriers to request the earliest possible shipping appointment.
