Client Letters: Black November Has Begun

Welcome to Black Friday November! A couple of items to keep in mind across each of the top eTailers:

• Amazon: T12/C12 begins November 21 and runs through Cyber Monday, December 2.

• Best Buy: Door busters start November 8 and have new items added each Friday through Cyber Monday (December 2nd).

• Home Depot: “Black Friday Savings” kicks off November 7, running through November 27,

• Macy’s: Black Friday deals kick off November 14 online and in stores.

• Sephora: Black Friday deals are planned for Thursday and Friday sitewide along with Cyber Monday for Beauty Insiders with limited deals for all shoppers.

• Target: Weeklong deals started November 3 and an “Early Black Friday Sale” hits November 7-9. Each day will have new deals added.

• Ulta: “Early Black Friday Deals” are ongoing throughout the month with a Hello Holidays Sale November 9-12. Black Friday Deals hit online November 23 and run through December 2.

• Walmart: Deals start November 11 online and run through December 2 via Event One: 11/11; Event Two: 11/25; Event Three: Cyber Monday.

When comparing your year over year comps, please keep the following calendar in mind.

Note that the only comp to comp day is Single Day. Every other major promotional day is pushed to a later date and Cyber Monday is pushed to the month of December versus November last year. Again, please note these calendar shifts when comparing your comp sales.
